Literacy
Pupils should be taught to: § maintain positive attitudes to reading and understanding of what they read by: increasing their familiarity with a wide range of books, including myths, legends and traditional stories, modern fiction, fiction from our literary heritage, and books from other cultures and traditions Pupils should plan their writing by: § identifying the audience for and purpose of the writing, selecting the appropriate form and using other similar writing as models for their own § noting and developing initial ideas, drawing on reading and research where necessary |
Science
Pupils should be taught to: § describe the movement of the Earth, and other planets, relative to the Sun in the solar system § describe the movement of the Moon relative to the Earth § describe the Sun, Earth and Moon as approximately spherical bodies § use the idea of the Earth’s rotation to explain day and night and the apparent movement of the sun across the sky. |

Computing
Pupils should be taught to: § understand computer networks including the internet; how they can provide multiple services, such as the world wide web; and the opportunities they offer for communication and collaboration § use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly; recognise acceptable/unacceptable behaviour; identify a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact. |
